Make your own fun

Even while you're doing the most mundane things

A Sunday is as good a time as any to remind you to always

make your own fun!

Yesterday, Stuart and I were on a drive home from having visited his mum. There were clear, sunshiney skies, perfect temperatures and Scott Mills on Radio 2 playing 90s Ibiza party tunes. I felt like I was 19 again!

The 40-minute drive we were on wasn’t anything particularly special

(well, I say that… the moors and landscapes all across North / West Yorkshire are gorgeous but we likely don’t think they’re that special anymore since we see them all the time)

but I decided it was as good a time as any to shiok sendiri (read what that is here) and create my own little dance party in the car.

I checked that I wasn’t going to cause a driving hazard, turned up the volume and had a great old bop all to myself in the passenger seat.

90s car dance parties - that’s a thing, yes? Or let’s make it one.

Fun is what you make it - doesn’t have to look cool, doesn’t have to be fun to anyone else, can absolutely look a little unhinged.

Just keep it safe - and bop away!

What kind of fun could you create out of something as ordinary and mundane as a drive home from your mother-in-law’s? 😉🥳
