{Video} Morning routines for the not-morning people

Not a single superfood smoothie bowl or vigorous yoga practice in sight

If I see one more Instagram reel telling me to wake up early in the morning, leave my phone alone and sit outside in the sun for 30 minutes, I WILL SCREAM BLOODY MURDER.

I’m sure that works for some of you boos out there. Good for you.

For the rest of us, this sanctimonious morning tyranny needs to be put to bed (hah, I’m pleased with that pun).

You are NOT more productive / efficient / a more virtuous human being for waking as the sun rises and following a “beautiful”, artfully curated morning routine.

And spending minutes/hours feeling guilt and shame for needing to sleep in later, is wasting unnecessary time that could otherwise be spent just doing things in your best way - and feeling good and easy about it.

Check out the video, with my just-woke-up thoughts (while I was sleepily waiting for my tea to brew) about what I do and don’t do in the morning.

There’s no routine and no structure to my mornings. And that’s the point.

This is meant to be a reminder to all of you who have some degree of control over how you shape your day, to not force yourself back into routines and early-morning wake-up times like you would in a structured 9-to-5 deal.

Literally nobody cares what time you wake up; and unless you have things locked into your schedule, there’s no reason to either.
